In Valmiermuiža beer lounge on October 5 at 19.00, cinema gourmands are invited to the international Manhattan Short Film Festival!
MANHATTAN SHORT is the only event of its kind. The Ten Finalists will screen simultaneously across the world during a one-week period, with the Best Film and Best Actor awards determined by ballots cast by audiences in each participating venue. By virtue of their selection by MANHATTAN SHORT, each short film is automatically Oscar-qualified.
This riveting MANHATTAN SHORT 2023 line-up is linked by a common theme: how we face adversity, whether it is imposed by others or arises from personal circumstances. The Final Ten short film selections feature narratives that are dramatic, sometimes humorous, occasionally magical and always inspirational!
Films are shown in English and original language with Latvian and Russian subtitles. Age of visitors: 12+. Ticket: 5 EUR.
The results of the competition will be announced on October 9, 2023 at a ceremony in New York and then published on the https://manhattanshort.com website and follow MANHATTON SHORT news in Latvia Facebook.
The festival in Latvia is organized by Moon Films, in Valmiermuiža by Valmiermuiža Association of Culture. The festival is held with the support of the US Embassy in Latvia and Riga City Council. Radio SWH and SWH+ support the informative event.
